Brain activity predicts decisions before they are consciously made
Kerri Smith
Your brain makes up its mind up to ten seconds before you realize it, according to researchers. By looking at brain activity while making a decision, the researchers could predict what choice people would make before they themselves were even aware of having made a decision.
So....we are NOT REALLY responsible for our actions.
That is not yet clear. The researchers stressed that: "Our study shows that
decisions are unconsciously prepared much longer ahead than previously
thought. But we do not know yet where the final decision is made. We need
to investigate whether a decision prepared by these brain areas can still
be reversed."
